Anna has bundled out of the first round of the Advanta Championships in Philadelphia, USA. Anna was defeated by Justine Hennin, ranked 70 in the world, 7-6 (8-6), 6-4. Anna's next tournement is the Chase Championships in NY.

Anna was defeated in the quarter finals of the Sparkessen Cup by Nathalie Tauziat of France, 7-6 (7-2), 7-5. We hope Anna has gathered enough points to compete in the last tournement of the year, the Chase Championships in New York.

Anna defeated Sandrine Testud of France 6-2, 6-4. Well done Anna! Her next match is in the quarter finals against Nathalie Tauziat, also of France.

Anna won her first round match at the Sparkassen Cup (Indoor) against Anne Kramer 7-5, 6-4. Anna seeded 5th, will play Sandrine Testud in the second round. Testud was runner up last week at Linz.

On Tuesday the 2nd, Anna will play Anne Kramer of Luxemburg in the first round of the Sparkessen Cup in Germany. Anna is seeded number 5 in the tournement, and will probably play Testud in the second round (according everything goes to plan).

Anna was defeated by Irina Spirlea in the second round of the Generali Ladies in Linz, 6-0, 0-6, 6-1. Her next tournement has been confirmed for Leipzig, Germany to get enough points to qualify for the Chase Championships in New York, USA.

Anna wins in return.
LINZ, Austria - Anna, returning to the tour after recovering from her stress fracture in her foot, defeated Cara Black of Zimbabwe 6-4, 6-4 on Tuesday in the first round of the $520,000 Generali Ladies tennis tournament.
The match was the first for Kournikova, the world's 13th-ranked women's player, since she dropped out of the Du Maurier Open, eleven weeks ago with a stress fracture in her right foot.
The victory sends Kournikova against Irina Spirlea of Romania in a second-round match.
Anna was spotted recently visiting a tennis school in Moscow. She is still slowly recovering from her stress fracture.
